Iraqi Orphan Programme

Protecting the Future of Iraq

  • The Challenge: Millions of Iraqi children have lost one or both parents to war. Without support, these orphans face the immediate threat of dropping out of school to work, leaving them highly vulnerable to exploitation.
  • IIWA’s Response: Our Orphan Sponsorship Programme provides one-to-one holistic care. We cover their educational materials, healthcare, daily nutritional needs, and clothing, while keeping them in a safe family environment.
  • The Long-Term Impact: We ensure orphans receive a full education, breaking the cycle of generational poverty and nurturing the future leaders, teachers, and doctors of Iraq.
  • IIWA’S established the Orphans’ Sports Club in Mosul with the aim of empowering orphaned children through sports, helping them overcome the hardships endured during the city’s occupation by ISIS, and providing a safe environment for the development of their physical and psychological capabilities. The club offers training programs in taekwondo and athletics under the supervision of qualified coaches, thereby contributing to talent discovery, the boosting of self-confidence, and the fostering of values such as discipline, teamwork, and social integration.
